Temporomandibular joint diseases and disorders, commonly called TMD, are a collection of poorly understood conditions characterized by clicking, popping or grating sounds in the jaw joint 、pain in the jaw and surrounding tissues and limitations in jaw movements. Pain is the most common symptom. TMD pain is often described as a dull aching pain in the jaw joint and nearby areas, including the ear, which comes and goes.
In early period of the disease,it was often ignored for the trivial symptom. But it's the high time to be cured. At last the problem may become severe and it's hard to solve the problem.
Bruxism is a most familiar dysfunctional disease characterized by night grinding of teeth or clenching of teeth.Fatigue and pain of the muscle would caused by it.Especiallly worn-out tooth and TMD must be paid more attention to.
The department of TMD clinic is a characteristic section of our hospital. There are most advanced apparatus for the diagnosis and therapy of TMD and Bruxism.By analysis of almost one ten thousand cases and integrated the research process of the disease, systematic treatment mainly containing non-surgery therapy was formed. Many people with certain TMJ problems get better with treatment.
